A Visitation will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 8th at Schooler Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 9th, at South Georgia Baptist Church. Rev. Robert Fields will officiate. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.James was born on January 2, 1923, to Barna and Ocie Smith Plaster in Bryson, TX. He met and married his beloved wife, Irene on December 6, 1941 in Turkey, TX. He was a long time resident of Amarillo, TX. James served on the Amarillo Fire Department for thirty three years. He also started and worked his own floor refinishing business for many years. James enjoyed his daily morning coffee with all his faithful friends, who met at the McDonalds. He loved spending time with his sons and their wives and he especially enjoyed the company of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Gilbert Plaster.Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Irene Plaster; his brothers, Loy Plaster and wife, H.P. of California, John Plaster and wife, Joyce of Illinois, and George Plaster and wife, Lorene of Amarillo; his sons, Jim Plaster and wife, Cindy of Dallas, Ronnie Plaster and wife, Pattie of Amarillo and Rick Plaster of Amarillo; his ten grandchildren; his 21 great-grandchildren; and his nieces and nephews.
