Memorial services will be held on Friday, September 24, 2010 at 11 am at the First Church of the Nazarene, 5201 S. Soncy Road, Amarillo, TX. Services in Salem, OR are pending. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia, Amarillo, TXBIOGRAPHY: James Allen Reimers, 81, of Amarillo, TX, went to be with the Lord on September 19, 2010. He was born in Laurel, NE to Clarence and Alice Welch Reimers. Jim entered into the United States Navy on September 16, 1947. During his military career he married the mother of his children, Janet Brown Reimers, on October 30, 1952. He retired on September 18, 1967 after a 20 year career in the Navy. Following his military career, he held several positions in the private sector in Corpus Christi, TX, Gulfport, MS and Salem, OR. Jim met and married Mabel Gardner Reimers on March 7, 1992 in Oregon while he was serving as a hospice volunteer. He was very active in the Capital Park Wesleyan Church in Salem Oregon. He loved serving the Lord, his family, gardening, model rail-roading, “the boys”, Charlie and Laddie. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mary Jane Reimers and two sons, Michael Patrick and Kevin Reimers.SURVIVORS: He is survived by three daughters: Bridget Evers of Amarillo, TX; Tina Lewis of Mission, TX and Amy Reimers of Houston, TX; one son, James Michael Reimers of Victoria, TX; two step-daughters: Beverly Hoag of Aloha, OR and Kathie Wood of Middleton, ID; two step-sons: Larry Gardner of Sublimity, OR and Alan Gardner of Wilsonville, OR; one sister, Della Jean Cook of Norfolk, NE; one brother, Richard C.
