James N. “Jim” White, 82, of Amarillo died October 29, 2013.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Lifeway Fellowship Church, located at 3315 Hancock, with Ray Milhoan officiating. A reception will be held in the fellowship hall at Lifeway following burial services at Llano Cemetery. Services are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia
Mr. White was born August 19, 1931 in Amarillo to Jesse B. and Zella Garretson White. Jim was a 1948 graduate of Panhandle High School and graduated from West Texas with a BBA degree in 1958.
He ran many business, managed many properties including the Rivera Swim and Slide and and DJ Enterprises. He cherished time spent with his wife and friends in Amarillo and New Mexico. He raised a small herd of cattle that were known as “his babies” and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
The family will receive guests at the funeral home Friday evening from 6PM until 7 PM at the funeral Home
He was preceded in death by his son, Donald James “Donnie” White in 2007. He is survived by his wife Conde George White, daughter Wendie White Woodward and husband Jeff of Plano, sisters Ramona Price, Loretta Cole, and Carroll Brigman, all of Amarillo, grandsons James Davis White and Joseph Daniel White, both of San Ramon, California, granddaughters Claire Elise Woodward, Audrey Lee Woodward and Grace Isabel Woodward, grandsons Thomas Evan and William Conde, all of Plano, Texas.
The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, that memorials be made to Meals on Wheels, Salvation Army or a favorite charity.
