James was born July 31, 1921 in Clayton, England to James and Elizabeth Wood. He played the piano at various pubs in England. He played soccer and rugby. He was a tail gunner during WWII for the Royal Air Force. He came to the United States for vacation in 1995, and returned to stay in 1996.
He is preceded in death by his wife Jean Wood on September 10, 2003.
He is survived by two daughters, Jeanette Moore and Joyce Wood, both of Amarillo; two sons, Paul Wood and wife Terri of Salina, Tx and Peter Wood and wife Zeneida of Tai Pei, China; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren that he loved very
