James “Jim” T. Yancey passed away, May 20, 2015, in Amarillo.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, May 22, 2015 at The Church of Christ at the Colonies with Mr. Dick Marcear, officiating. Entombment will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
James was born on April 22, 1932 in Wichita Falls to Thomas and Naomi Yancey. He married Alta Hicks in Wichita Falls on September 1, 1951 and they would have been married 64 years this year. James was an electrician and a plumber, both commercial and residential and was a member of I.B.E.W. Local 602. He was a member of The Church of Christ at the Colonies and was a hard worker, dedicated to his family. He also proudly served in both the U. S. Army and Navy in Korea.
He is survived by his wife Alta; three sons, Mark, Robert, and Cary Yancey; one brother, Perry Yancey and wife JoAnn; five grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
