Jan L. Christie

Jan L. Christie, 67, of Amarillo died April 30, 2021 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

A private celebration of life service will be at a later date. Arrangements made by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Amarillo, Texas 79110.

Jan was born in Montrose, CO on March 8, 1954 to Ralph and Kay Christie.

Jan’s family moved to Texas in 1962. She graduated from Dumas High School and attended Texas Women’s University. Jan worked as a field operator for Phillips Petroleum for 16 years. She later moved to Amarillo and worked at Maxor Pharmacy. Jan was a good caregiver and had a gift for working with the elderly. She enjoyed the mountains, day trips to nearby state parks, and spending time with family and friends.

Jan was preceded in death by her father, Ralph, and special friend and life partner, Ann Ryan.

Jan is survived by her mother, Kay Christie, of Amarillo. She is also survived by a sister Gayle Jones and husband, Barry of Allen, TX and her brothers Irl Christie and wife, Donna and Carson Christie and wife, RaLynda, all of Amarillo. Jan loved her nieces and nephews dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. They are Wesley Jones, Cale Christie, Ross Jones and wife, Mandy, Chirae DeShazo and husband Riley and Cayde Christie. Jan also has six great-grand nephews and nieces.

Memorials in honor of Jan can be made to the High Plains Food Bank or the American Cancer Society.
