Janet M. Blum

Janet (Jan) M. Blum was born April 9th 1928 to John T. and Marian Dean in Hollidaysburg, PA.  Jan was the third of five children having two older brothers, one younger brother and one younger sister.  Jan attended school in both Hollidaysburg and Altoona, PA and after leaving school she began working as an assembly person at a local Sylvania plant.

In 1946, she married her first husband and the two divorced after the birth of their two children, Gloria and Robert (Rob). In 1956, she married William (Bill) Blum. This marriage lasted for 68 years and resulted in the birth of a son, William (Bill) Blum, Junior. At the time of their marriage Bill was active duty Air Force and made military service his career.  Together, Bill and Jan lived in Washington State, California, and Newfoundland. Upon Bill’s retirement they settled in St. Petersburg, FL.

Jan loved to travel and she and Bill visited many countries together but spent most of their travel time in Hawaii.  In 2020, Jan and Bill moved to Amarillo, TX to live with their son, Rob and his wife, Cindy.

Jan loved to do many things, arts and crafts, etc. but mostly enjoyed shopping at HSN and QVC.  I am sure they both will miss her. She very much loved and was loved by all of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, all of her siblings, her daughter, her son Bill, Jr and her husband Bill.  She is survived by her son, Rob and his wife, Cindy of Amarillo, numerous grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren.

There will be a memorial service on Monday, March 27, at 3:00 pm at Schooler Funeral Home – Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St.  Burial will be at a future date in Florida.
