Janet M. Jones, 78 of Amarillo, died Monday, October 17, 2011,
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday October 20, 2011 in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel with Msgr. Harold Waldow of St. Mary’s Cathedral Church officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at the funeral home, from 6 to 7 p.m.
Mrs. Jones was born December 27, 1932 in Ithaca, New York. Janet married Harold J. Jones in May of 1959. Mrs. Jones worked at Tascosa for 27 years and was a loyal Tascosa Rebel. Janet was a dedicated Marine Corp wife receiving recognition for that during the Veitnam conflict in 1970. She was also a dedicated and loving mother and second mother to many. Janet had a love for chile peppers. She was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her.
Janet was preceded in death by her husband Harold J. Jones in April of 1994.
Janet is survived by her daughter Jayme Jones, four nieces, Joleen Stone Krogman, Jeanie Stone, Lisa Oliver and husband Chuck, and Shyrleen Jones, a sister in law, JoLu Timblin, and her grand dogs, Beau and Blair.
Family suggests memorials be made to the American Lung Association.
