Janice L. McCoy-Lis passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018 after a short illness.
Rosary will be said at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, March 8, 2018 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 4100 S. Coulter. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 9, 2018 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.
Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.
Janice was born September 16, 1940 in Beach, North Dakota to Leo and LeVernne White. The family moved to Portland, Oregon where Janice spent her early childhood and most of her adult life before moving to Amarillo in early 1992. Janice worked in various medical fields and was an X-ray technician retiring in 2006. Janice married Gerald Lis on July 15, 2016.
She was very active at St. Thomas church with Perpetual Adoration, Altar Guild, Rosary group, many scripture and bible studies, rosary makers, prayer shawl knitters, Focolare and others. Janice was a member of the Catholic Historical Society. Janice dearly loved the church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Beverly Schrick and Sharon Schuler; and her first husband, Lester McCoy.
Janice is survived by her husband Gerald Lis; son, Michael McCoy and wife Shelley; and grandsons, Connor and Hunter.
