Jean Baker, age 86 of Amarillo died peacefully on August 19, 2015.
Funeral Services will be on Monday, August 24th at 10:00 AM at Polk Street United Methodist Church Chapel. Rev. Kevin Deckard will officiate. A private interment will be at Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon, Texas. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Jean was born April 9, 1929 in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico to Seaburn and Emma Corbin Heath. She married William “Bill” Baker on April 8, 1948 in Amarillo.
Jean was a dedicated and detailed legal secretary that became the Court Administrator of the 47th District Court of the State of Texas in Potter County. It was from that position that she retired after many years.
As a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she played an even more special role in the lives of her grandchildren, after the death of her daughter, Renae Bohensky in 1998.
She was a long time member of Polk Street United Methodist Church.
The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Renae, and her husband Bill.
She is survived by her son Randy Baker and his wife, Leiane of Amarillo; her grandsons, Michael Bohensky and his wife Amy of San Saba, Joshua E. Baker, and David Baker; her granddaughters, Casie Stinnett and Callie Beatty and husband, Martin; four great-granddaughters, Analyn, Katelyn and Emalyn Bohensky and Maya Stinnett; and two great-grandsons, Tarron Stinnett and Curtis Beatty.
