Jean Ann Littau, 81, died Monday, May 13, 2013 in Amarillo.
Mrs. Littau was born August 26, 1931 in Shattuck, Oklahoma to Victor and Mabel Scarth.
Services will be at 3:00 p.m., Friday, May 17 at St. Stephen United Methodist church with Rev. Don Travis and Rev. Carol Scarth officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
She married Harold Littau June 3, 1949, in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. They moved to Amarillo in 1965 and had previously resided in Hutchinson, Kansas and Perryton, Texas. Jean worked as office manager with Littau Motor Company in Perryton and then as secretary for BMA Insurance in Amarillo, and as owner/operator with husband, Harold, at Satellite TV Systems of Amarillo. She and Harold retired in 1994.
For over 40 years, Jean loved to play bridge with numerous friends at Lake Tanglewood. Square dancing was a favorite pastime with her friends in Pairs ‘N Squares and Pioneer Prominaders since 1970. She enjoyed many years traveling in their RV with the FMCA clubs and made countless friends across the country. Jean and Harold worshiped for many years at Lake Tanglewood Community Church and then with St. Stephens United Methodist Church, where she was active with the Pathfinders Sunday School group. She also enjoyed playing golf and gatherings with family and friends throughout the years.
Jean was loved and cherished by her family and many friends. She blessed our lives ever so abundantly. We will deeply miss her and will rejoice when we see her smiling face and welcoming arms again in Heaven. We give thanks evermore to the Lord God for our beloved Jean.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Harold of Amarillo; two sons, Craig Littau of Amarillo, and Stanley Littau and wife, Laura of Granbury; seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Esther Roth and husband Raymond of Booker, and Ida Fritzler and husband Raymond of Shattuck, Oklahoma; two brothers, Bill Scarth and wife Carol of Claremore, Oklahoma and Jim Scarth and wife Kokys of Laverkin, Utah.
