Jean Carole Low

September 27, 1933 — March 26, 2015

Jean Carole Low, age 81, a longtime resident of Amarillo passed from this life on Thursday, March 26, 2015 after a long-term illness.

Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 30, 2015 at Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum with Rev. Ken Cole officiating.  Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.

Jean was born September 27, 1933 to Dale and Eva Lee Low of Miami, Texas.  Jean graduated from Miami High School in 1951 and attended West Texas State for two years.  She worked for Braniff Airways as a reservationist and served in the Naval Reserve prior to returning to college in 1960.  Jean graduated from WTSU in 1962 with a BBA degree in accounting.  She pursued her vocation in accounting working for Brown, Graham & Co. of Amarillo and Friona Ford of Friona, Texas.

Jean was an Avon representative in Amarillo for a number of years prior to her retirement.  Jean was a member of St. Stephen’s United Methodist Church.

Jean is survived by a sister, Annette Leake of Amarillo; a brother and sister-in-law, Joel and Jean Low of Lubbock; two nephews Craig Leake and family of Amarillo, James Leake and family of Sarasota, Florida; one niece Angie (Low) Molina and family of Lubbock.

Jean is preceded in death by her parents and a lifetime companion, Harriet Nichols.

The family wishes to thank the many loving caregivers at Plum Creek Rehabilitation Center for their care the past 4 years, as well as the care supplied by Hospice Care of the Southwest.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to St. Stephen United Methodist Church Homebound Missions, 4600 S Western, Amarillo TX 79109.
