Jerelyn “Jeri” Moss, age 88 of Amarillo, peacefully entered heaven on December 1, 2024.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Southwest Church of Christ, with Mr. Doyle Corder officiating.
Jeri was born on June 30, 1936, in Elk City, Oklahoma, to her parents, Lee and Nigella Davis. She attended both the University of Oklahoma (OU) and Oklahoma State University (OSU). During her time at university, Jeri met Kenneth E. Moss, and the two were married on August 25, 1956. They spent the next sixty-three years together until Kenneth's passing in 2019. The couple adopted three children: Greg, Kristi, and Kenna.
Jeri was a devoted wife and mother. She proudly stood by Kenneth and embodied the role of an elder's wife. With a servant's heart, she lived to serve God and others. Jeri was always present and available for her family and loved ones.
She enjoyed oil painting and found great joy in cooking and baking. Food was one of her love languages, and anyone fortunate enough to share in her creations would surely be delighted. Jeri loved hosting, whether for bridge parties or large family gatherings; she always enjoyed bringing everyone together. Her laughter and friendship will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Patsy Adkins, and her husband, Kenneth.
Jeri is survived by her two daughters, Kristi Grooms and husband Kevin, and Kenna Moss; her son, Greg Moss, all of Amarillo; four grandchildren, Michael, Nicole, Kevin II, and Katelyn; and seven great-grandchildren.
