Jerry Ralph Wikle

May 31, 1945 — July 5, 2015

Jerry was born May 31, 1945 in Clovis to Ralph and Opal Allman Wikle.  He was raised and attended school in Melrose.
Something needed fixed? You call Jerry. There was nothing he could not repair and rebuild, perhaps better than it was originally designed.  He was a master mechanic and was a genius at figuring things out.   In the 70’s he operated Friona Engine and Diesel Repair.
He and his wife Bonnie, now they were a pair! They married in Amarillo on April 27, 1984 and this past April celebrated 31 years together.  They were partners in life and in their business, Panhandle Fencing.  Together they succeeded at many things, but the blending of their two families, although not without its occasional ups and downs was something they were very successful in doing.  Jerry‘s entire life revolved around his family.  The family lake trips were taken so the family could be  grow together…well and to ski, he would get a bit upset if they got to the lake and no one wanted to ski!
As the children grew up, he and Bonnie became very involved in the Goldwing Riders Association.  Jerry served as president of the Top Wings Motorcycle Club.  They were also members of the self-proclaimed WPA (We Piddle Around), a group of friends who enjoyed the open road and became family.  As president of the motorcycle club, Jerry truly cared for each of the members and for everyone’s safety.  He felt a sense of personal responsibility for each of the riders.  Jerry was an honorable man, a hard worker and passionate about those he loved family and friends alike. He made an impression on anyone that was fortunate to know him.
Jerry was preceded in death by is parents and by his sister, Ruth Powers.
He is survived by his wife Bonnie; his two daughters, Kelly Hess and her husband Kelly of Amarillo and Christy Powell and her husband Cody of Summerville; his two sons, Shawn Wikle and his wife Mistie and Steve Wikle all of Amarill0; and seven precious grandchildren, Raini and Haili Whitacre, Gage Wikle, Korbyn and Aspyn Hess and KJ and Cooper Powell.
