Jessica Monique Chavez-Saxon, 35, of Farmington, NM passed away Sunday, May 27, 2018 in Amarillo, TX.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 9, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Santa Fe, 1605 Old Pecos Trail, Santa Fe, NM with the Rev. Reed Redus as officiant. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Amarillo, TX.
Jessica was born February 22, 1983 in Santa Fe, NM to Art and Linda Chavez. She attended Capital High School where she served as Class President during her time there. She was nominated Prom Queen, was a member of the Swim Team and worked as a Certified Life Guard for a couple of years. Jessica graduated in 2001 and attended The University of New Mexico. She then began working for a Financial Advising Firm where she met her husband, David.
Jessica and David married on July 5, 2008 in Albuquerque. Together, they opened Sandia Hearing Aids and have continued Specialized Care for their patients with 2 locations in New Mexico and Colorado. Jessica was a philanthropist and served on the Board of the San Juan Golf Country Club. She had a passion for community service, loved to help people and together, Jessica and David founded Young Leaders of United Way in Albuquerque.
Jessica was a spark of energy, a bright light, and had a passion for fun and adventure. Her smile was infectious and her laugh was contagious. She had pride in her appearance and dressed to a “T”. She loved Lady Gaga and what she stood for and to her friends; she was known as, “Lady J”. Jessica left a footprint on everyone’s hearts and will be forever missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, David Saxon; her beloved cat, Buckwheat; grandparents, Grandma Mary (Fierro) and Grandpa Pompi (Eloy Fierro); great-grandparents, Arthur and Emma Chavez; and her aunt, Bernadette Chavez.
Jessica is survived by her mother, Linda Chavez-Ortega and husband Victor of Santa Fe; her father, Art Chavez III and his wife Madelene of Amarillo; brother, Josh (Chachi) Chavez and girlfriend Jazmine Marquez of Ft. Worth; sister, Sarah Weathers and husband Ricky; brothers, Brandon Ammons and Rick Mendoza of Amarillo; 2 nephews, Travis and Tripp Weathers of Amarillo; grandparents, Effie (Grandma Honey) Chavez of Albuquerque, and Arthur Chavez Jr. and wife Betty of Phoenix; aunts, Vickie Pollack and husband Wayne, Cathy Dupy and husband Mark, Tina Rodriguez, and Helen Bachicha and husband Marty, all of Albuquerque; uncles, Mark Chavez and wife Geri of Santa Fe, and Steve Rodriquez and wife Paula of Albuquerque; in laws, Olen Ben Saxon and wife Mary of Moriarty; sister-in-law’s, Vicki Moyer and husband Gordon, and Terrie Saxon and Richard Kifer; and brother-in-law, Ed Saxon all of Albuquerque; and countless cousins and friends whom loved her dearly.
