A graveside service will be held 11:00 A.M Thursday June 9, 2011 in Llano Cemetery, with Sherman Eastland Chaplain of Odyssey Hospice officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.
Jewell Woods born Letha Jewell Craft passed away June7, 2011 in Amarillo at 96. She was born October 16, 1914 to Caleb Nimrod and Gertrude McCulley Craft in to Johnston in County Oklahoma near Connerville. She grew up there and graduated from Pontotoc High School. She met and married Grover Lee Woods in 1935. She and her husband lived on their farm near Melrose, New Mexico for twenty years. They then moved to Halfway, Texas and resided there for seven years. The couple then moved to
Dalhart, Texas where they resided until after retirement then they moved to Amarillo.
Mrs. Woods was a homemaker throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Grover in 2002. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Noveta Craft, Nora Harrington, Moneda Sutterfield and brother, Arlen.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty Mowery of Georgia and Colleen Daily of Granbury; and a son, Jerry of Amarillo; ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
