Jo Blankenship Malone died peacefully in her home on February 14, 2020.
Celebration of life service will be held February 19, 2020 at 6:00 PM at Schooler Funeral Home 4100 S. Georgia.
Born in 1949 in Amarillo, TX, Jo grew up on the farm being her Dad’s little helper. She loved driving the milk trucks, milking the cows and shooting rabbits at Blankenship Dairy. She graduated in 1968 from Tascosa High School and was a Symphony Belle. Creating things was Jo’s passion when she was young. She attended the fashion school in Dallas. Once she had kids, she funneled all that style and talent into making life special for her family. She poured her life into her girls being a Girl Scout leader, being a PTA mom, and being an amazing seamstress. Her home, the home her parents built, was always a welcoming place for family and friends to congregate.
She married her longtime friend, Kim Malone, May 9, 1990. In 1992 Jo went to work at Glazer’s Wholesale Distributor for a few weeks and wound up retiring 20 years later. Upon retirement, she found joy in the beauty of travelling with Kim and her fur babies, Jake and Rusty.
Jo was preceded in death by Ralph and Patricia Blakenship, her first husband Steve Williams, and her sister Judy Barton.
She is survived by her husband Kim Malone; daughter Brett Anne Williams; daughter Lisa Shaw and husband Cory Shaw; granddaughters Mary, Riley, and Samantha; niece Shawnee Merriman; stepchildren Heather Malone and Weston Malone.
In lieu of flowers or food, the family suggests making a donation to your favorite charity.
