Joe P. Brod, 86, died on Monday, February 20, 2017 in Amarillo.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 am, Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Westview Christian Church, 6810 Hillside, with Pastor Russ Baker officiating. A private burial will be held at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia, Amarillo, Texas 79110.
Joe was born on November 17, 1930 in Waco, Texas to Joseph and Edith Brod. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. Joe married Norma Porter on November 20, 1953 in Douglass, Kansas. They were married for 63 years. Joe was a 1956 graduate of Texas Tech University where he received a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He retired from Pantex after 34 years of employment as a program manager. Joe enjoyed hand making clay pottering and playing the harmonica. He was also known for his building and carpentry skills. He was a member of Westview Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jana Brod; his parents; and his sister, Dorothy Huckabee.
Joe is survived by his wife Norma Brod of Amarillo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
