Joe Latham

Joe Latham, 87, of Amarillo, passed away on September 2, 2022.

Funeral services will be at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel on Tuesday,

September 6, 2022 at 2:00 PM with Mr. Gene Shelburne officiating.

Burial will follow at Memory Gardens with arrangements by Schooler Funeral Directors.

Joe was born July 26, 1935, at Breckenridge, Texas to J.D. and Una Clark Latham.

He graduated from Texas Christian University and West Texas A&M University.

He married Mary Younger in 1974.

They spent many happy times at their summer home and

winter retreat in the beautiful mountains of Red River, New Mexico.

Joe worked in the construction industry most of his life.

He taught construction technology at TSTI and Amarillo College

and conducted real estate inspections for 25 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Garth Latham, and grandson Connor Jacob.

He is survived by his wife Mary, son Jay Latham and his wife Terri of New Jersey,

daughters Lynae Jacob of Amarillo and Paige Latham of Dallas;

Mary’s children, Debbie Melugin and her partner Bobby,

Ruth Anne Shepherd and her husband Mike, and Barbara Younger, all of Amarillo;

sister Elwanna Collins of Keller; brother Lyndon Latham of Amarillo;

six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
