Joe Alvin Mueller

Joe Mueller, 70, of Amarillo died April 30, 2018.

A visitation will be held from 6-7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 4, 2018 at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, 555 E. Hastings Ave. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m., in Friona Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.

Joe was born April 17, 1948 in Stamford, Texas to Alvin and Billie Jo Mueller. He married Marlene Irvin in 1967. They had 2 children in Haskell, TX, and then moved to Friona, TX in 1972 where they lived for 38 years. They moved to Amarillo to retire in 2010. They were members of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.

Joe loved spending time with family, watching his granddaughter’s sporting events and anything they were involved in, playing golf, gardening, traveling in the RV and jeeping. He could build anything with his hands. While living in Friona, TX, he was a member of the Friona Riding Club. Joe was a manager at Perry Brothers in Knox City, cowboy ranch hand in Seymour, and then worked at Cargill in maintenance in Friona for 36 years.

He is preceded in death by his father, Alvin Mueller; son, Monty Mueller; sister, Jane Reading; sister-in-laws, Darlene Swinney and Mayme Gee; brother-in-law, Rick Irvin; and a nephew, Joey Swinney.

Joe is survived by his dear wife, Marlene Mueller; mother, Billie Jo Mueller; daughter, Staci Duran and husband Andre; brother, Terry Mueller; and 2 grandchildren, Taylor and Kyndali Duran.
