He served as President of the Amarillo Track and Trail Motorcycle Club in 1978. He raced motorcycle Enduros in the Tri-State Area where he placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd several times through the years. He rode his Harley’s all over the United States, including Alaska, Canada, Nova Scotia, Labrador, and New Foundland. Jody also was an avid golfer and member of the Tascosa Golf Club. The best part of his retirement was being able to play golf every day that he could.
Jody was a deacon at the Church at Quail Creek, which he loved dearly. He was the Director of his Life Group Class and served on several committees in the church. One of the highlights of his life was the trip he took to Israel with the church in 1993. He was also involved with the Southern Baptist of Texas Convention. He served on the Nominations Committee in 1999-2002, and the Credentials Committee in 2004-2007. Jody served on the Board of Trustees for Criswell Seminary College in 2012-2014.
