Joel was born April 7, 1983 in Amarillo to Antonio and Dolores Marquez. Joel lived his life passionately. When he loved someone or something you knew it! To say he was just a fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers would be an understatement; he was a huge fan and followed the team closely. He also enjoyed watching Hulk Hogan wrestle. Perhaps the thing Joel was most passionate about were his family and friends. He enjoyed spending time with them. He also coached the co-ed soft-ball Team ‘Da-Starters.” Joel had the biggest heart; he was a loving, caring and giving individual. He would do anything for those he loved. He was especially fond of his nieces and nephews. He also had a bit of an ornery side and could be quite the character. He will be loved and forever in the hearts of his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Isreal “Izzy” Marquez; his nephew, Jesus Marquez Jr. ; his grandfather, Antonio Escoto; grandfather and grandma Carlos Marquez Orosco and Irene Campos Marquez.
He is survived by his wife, Sara Salazar, his sisters, Irene Rodriguez and her spouse Bobby and Selina Gomez and her spouse Johnny; his brothers, Anthony Marquez, Jesus “Bulle” Marquez, Manuel Marquez and his spouse Ronnie and Carlos Marquez and his spouse Abe Martinez; grandma Angie Escoto; his in-laws, John Salazar and his spouse Jolene and Georgia Salazar and two brothers-in law, John Salazar Jr and wife Leasa and Eric Salazar and wife Loretta; seven nieces, five nephews, one great niece and two great nephews.
