John B. Lange

October 25, 1932 — August 4, 2011

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 8, at Victory Church with Pastor David Brown officiating.  Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery East.  Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.

John Balcer Lange was born October 25, 1932 to John Lange and Anna Balcer in Chicago, Illinois.  He married his sweetheart, Carmen Badillo in Long Beach, California on August 25, 1968.  John served his country in the US Navy, serving in the Korean conflict and serving three tours of duty in Vietnam.  During his Navy enlistment, he made 16 trips overseas, retiring in 1970.

John was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  He was a member of Victory Church since 1994 where he served as an usher and loved his church family.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and will be dearly missed.

Survivors are his wife, Carmen; daughters, Alice Golibart of Long Beach, CA; Angie Bass, Diana Garcia and Kathy Etheridge all of Amarillo; sons, Frank De Vasquez of Amarillo; and James De Vasquez of Libertyville, IL; a sister, Tina Frum of Woodstock, IL; brothers, Donald Lange of Round Lake, IL; Ted Lange of Illinois; and Larry Lange of Cedar Lake, IL; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
