John Langley died Tuesday, March 6, in Amarillo.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, at Hard C.O.R.E. Ministry of Christian Heritage Church, 900 S. Nelson, with Rev. Bo Pearson officiating and assisted by Rev. GranFe Dean Rivera. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
John B. Langley was born in Amarillo on October 6, 1948 to Eddie and Sally Langley. He graduated from Tascosa High School in 1966, attended West Texas A&M University, and then enlisted in the Air Force. He worked for Santa Fe Railroad before owning his own lawn care business, followed by ownership of Golden Eagle Fence Co. John also played on a baseball team, “Wild Hickory Nuts”, was an avid Harley rider, and loved his trucks.
Survivors include his son, Mike Langley of Austin and Mike’s mother, Karen Flores of Amarillo; stepdaughter, Amy Blalock and husband Erik of Amarillo; sister Joan Langley of Amarillo; brother Tom Langley of San Marcos; his mother Sally Langley of Amarillo, and three grandchildren, Gabriella Cordero of Hutto, Katelynn Tidwell and Angel Blalock, both of Amarillo. He is also survived by his loyal and faithful German Shepherd, Raider, who loved playing soccer with John; and friends too numerous to mention.
