Jack Thomas age 83, died August 26, 2011 in Lubbock.
Services will be on Tuesday, August 30th at 10:00 AM at Llano Mausoleum Chapel. The Msgr. Glenn D Gardner of Dallas will officiate. Entombment will be at Llano Cemetery Mausoleum. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Jack Thomas was born March 28, 1928 in Pittsburg, PA to Buck and Gladys Thomas. He attended Central Catholic High School in Greenfield, PA.
He served in the United States Army from 1947 until 1948. Jack married Barbara Perkins in 1958 in Houston, Texas; she preceded him in death in 1998. He retired from Wheelburg Pittsburg Steel in 1981 after thirty one years.
I addition to his wife, Jack was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Bill in 1934 and his sister Mary in 1994.
The family would like to thank Bender Terrance Nursing Home of Lubbock for their excellent care and compassion. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
He is survived by a daughter, Jamie Parks of Lubbock, TX; two grandchildren, Christopher Parks and Everett Parks; a great grandchild, Tori Parks; two nieces Mary Lou and Janis; a nephew, Jack all from Pittsburgh, PA and two brother-in-law, Jim Perkins of Canyon and Tom Perkins of California.
