Johnnie was born in 1922, in Bellevue, Texas to Charles “Charlie” and Ada Foust Lipe. She graduated from Happy High School, and Amarillo Commercial College. She married S.K. Hill on October 29, 1941. Together they have been dear friends of High Plains Children’s Home, and in July of 2010 the Home’s administrative offices were dedicated and named in their Honor. Johnnie’s mother passed away when she was four years old and therefore always empathized with children in difficult positions. She worked in the Fisk Building downtown, Amarillo, and later in Perryton for Halliburton and served 20 years as the secretary for the Perryton ISD School Superintendent. Johnnie and S.K. farmed and ranched all of the time.She is preceded in death by her sisters, Vesta, Mae, Zell, and Alta.Survivors include her husband S.K. Hill; and her nieces and nephews.
