Johnnie Rhea Wright, 76, of Amarillo died May 1, 2014.
Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Hillside Christian Church Amarillo South Campus, 6901 South Bell with Pastor Craig Albracht, Roger Arnold, and Bob Setliff officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Johnnie was born July 24, 1937 in Pheonix, Az to John and Nadeane Wright. He graduated from Clovis High School in Clovis, NM. Johnnie married the love of his life, Sandy, on June 28, 1972 in Amarillo. Johnnie served in many capacities, but mostly in banking and in the Heating and Air Conditioning business both as a worker and in sales. He was also a journeyman sheet metal worker. Johnnie’s passion was serving for the Ronald McDonald House and spending time with children and later in life as a hunting guide. He was a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, a Life Member of the NRA, and the Pioneer Gun Collectors. Johnnie wore many hats in life, but he became complete in Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his younger brother, Kenny Wright.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy, his sons, Eddie Rhea Wright and wife Michelle of Tijeras, New Mexico, Sammie Keith Wright and wife Boonsong of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Tyler Harrington and wife Kelly of Frisco, Texas. His sisters, Vivian “Sis” Pool and husband Don of Carlsbad, California, and Charlotte Newbill and husband Randall of Coppell, Texas; his loving companion, Chug, and three granddaughters, a grandson, and one great granddaughter.
