JoNell Israel

JoNell was born on February 17, 1932 in Slayton, Texas to Burr and Roxie Range Myers. Her childhood was spent on a farm about five miles outside of Plainview and in the town of Plainview. The family moved to Amarillo in 1943. Jo Graduated from Amarillo High School in 1950. She worked at Pantex for several years. Jo married Clyde Israel, the love of her life, on January 21, 1961 in the Chapel at First Methodist Church. They had two beautiful girls, Elaine and Linda. Taking care of her family was Jo’s life work. Supporting the endeavors of her children and grandchildren was her greatest joy. She was so proud that both her daughters graduated from Pharmacy school. Linda graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State in 1988. Elaine graduated from The University of Texas in 1986, worked for awhile, and then went on to graduate from Medical School at Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine.  While raising her family, JoNell held a part-time position for 25 years at the Panhandle Geological Log library as the librarian.Jo was a wonderful Christian wife and mother.Preceded in death by; her brother Burton Range MyersJoNell is Survived by; her husband, Clyde; her daughters, Dr. Elaine Miller and husband, Rick of Granbury, Texas; Linda Sutter and husband, John of Kennedale, Texas; Six grandchildren; five great grandchildren
