Joseph F. Lineman Sr. age 92 of Amarillo died Saturday January 22, 2011.Memorial Service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday January 29, 2011 at St. Martin DePorres Catholic Church with Msgr. Rex Nicholls officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home 4100 S. Georgia St. Amarillo, Texas.Joe was born October 12, 1918 to Anthony Lineman and Cecelia Dracht Lineman in Philadelphia, Pa. He joined the U.S Army at the beginning of WWII and Participated in the European Campaign. After the war he married the love of his life, Frances M. Taylor at St. Edwards Church, February 2, 1946. They embarked on a love filled journey until 2002 when she left this earth to be with the Lord.He proudly served his county for 26 years in the USAF including a tour of duty in Viet Nam before his retirement. After retiring he devoted his time and sharing his skills with others. He did maintenance and remodeling for the Alamo Catholic H.S, St Francis convert, delivered for Meals on Wheels, and he never turned anyone away that needed help. He loved his Church, loved his family and had a special devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, his wife Frances, and a granddaughter Sarah.Survived by his sister, Rita McDonald of Philadelphia, sons, Joseph and wife, Gracie, Jerry and wife, Patti of Amarillo; Michael and wife, Dana, and James and wife, Darla of Ft Worth, Texas; 15 grandchildren. 24 great grandchildren, and too many friends to number.The family suggest Memorials be made to BSA Hospice 600 N.
