Funeral Mass will be Wednesday 10A.M. at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church with Rev. Schmitmeyer officiating.

BIOGRAPHY:
Joseph was born in Breckenridge, Texas on June 14, 1931 to Joseph and Mary Schwind. He graduated from Breckenridge High School. Joseph joined the U.S. Army on February 7, 1951 serving in Germany. Joseph was honorably discharged on January 28, 1954. He graduated from Texas Tech University in 1959 earning his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering. He married Mary Virginia Burns on August 14, 1961 in Nara Visa, New Mexico. He was a member of St. Hyacinth Catholic Church. Joseph worked for Pioneer Natural Gas Corporation and Cabot Corporation for over 29 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Caroline Leonard and a brother Leonard Schwind.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years Mary Virginia, Daughter, Mary Jo DePriest and husband Dick of Creede, CO. Susan Annette Stebbins and husband David of Amarillo, Sons, Michael F. Schwind wife Katherine of Burleson, and Scott C. Schwind of Amarillo, Sisters Julia Vecera of Crowley, Catherine Meyer of Everman, and Patricia Rose of Austin, and Marian Stillman of Suwannee, GA. Brother Edward Schwind of College Station. Eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Elizabeth, Kristopher, Sarah, Katie, Gracie, Clara Rose, and John Michael.
