Joseph 'Joe' Bertrand Temple

Joseph “Joe” Bertrand Temple, 82, of Amarillo died Sunday, August 14, 2016.

Rosary will be Sunday, August 21, 2016 at 6pm at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel.
Memorial Mass will be Monday, August 22, 2016 at 10:00 at St. Mary’s Cathedral with Rev. Scott Raef and Msgr. Harold Waldo as concelebrants.  Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.

Mr. Temple was born on March 16, 1934 in Bartlett, Kansas to Wayne and Martha Temple.  He married the love of his life, Wilma Falke on October 25, 1952.  Joe and Wilma moved to Amarillo from Kansas in 1967 for Joe to begin work at Wingate Inc.  His hobbies included sports, gardening and coaching many Little League Baseball teams.  He has been a long time member of St. Mary’s Cathedral.  He was a loving husband, father and beloved grandfather providing strength, comfort and guidance for is family.  Joe was loved by many and he never knew a stranger.  He leaves behind an extraordinary legacy.  Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Catholic Academy.  Joe and Wilma would like to show gratitude to DaVita Amarillo Dialysis Center and Interim Hospice.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Catherine LaFollette; a brother Wayne “Merle” Temple; and three daughters, Debra Kay, Lisa Dawn and Alicia Renee Temple.

Joe is survived by his wife, Wilma; a son Greg Temple and wife Debbie of San Antonio; two daughters, Kim Lynch and husband Dan of Franklin, TN and Dr. Angela Phillips and husband Ken of Amarillo; three sisters Virginia Childress of North Hills, CA, Jeanine Dodds of Parsons, KS and Judy Floyd of Orlando, FL; and a brother Courtney Temple of Salina, KS; eight grandchildren, Brent Temple and wife Kristen of Webster Grove, MO, Scott Temple and wife Brandice of San Antonio, Sarah Jones and husband Cory of Thompson Station, TN, Michael Lynch and wife Lillian of Murfreesboro, TN, Austin Lynch of Chattanooga, TN, Regina, Anna and Andrew Phillips all of Amarillo; two great grandsons, Cooper Jones  of TN and Grant Temple of MO.
