Josephine “Josie” Marie Herrera, 34, of Amarillo, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 in Amarillo.
A wake will be held at 6:00 PM Friday, September 1, 2017 at Schooler Funeral Home’s Brentwood Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 AM Saturday, September 2, 2017 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 4100 S. Coulter, with Rev. John Valdez as celebrant. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Josie was born on May 19, 1983 in Riverside, California, to Tom and Margie Campbell. She was a graduate of Sweetwater High School in Sweetwater. Josie had attended Texas A&M University. She was employed by the BSA Urgent Care Clinic and BSA Physicians Group as a medical billing specialist. She served as a board member for St. Joseph’s School and as Historian for the Amarillo Youth Choirs. Josie was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Josie will be remembered as a selfless and loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many.
Josie is survived by her two children, Liliana and Alexander Herrera, both of Amarillo; her parents, Tom and Margie Campbell of Amarillo; five siblings, John Mullen and wife Sally of Bushland, Steve Mullen and companion Cynthia Lesieur of Commerce City, Colorado, Phillip Mullen and wife Ella of Argyle, Robin Campbell of Edmonds, Washington, and Mandee Ehmer and husband David of Corinth; eight nieces and nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
An “Alex and Lily Herrera” account has been established at Wells Fargo Bank under the name of godfather Phillip Mullen. The family suggests any memorials or donations be made to the account on Alex and Lily’s behalf.
