Joy Belle Brown

Joy Belle Brown, 93, of Amarillo died Monday, July 25, 2016 in Amarillo.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, July 29, 2016 at Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel with Rev. Scott Rankin officiating.  Burial will be at 1:00 PM Monday, August 1, 2016 in the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.

Joy was born on December 13, 1922 in Pangburn, Arkansas to Hicks and Ellie Hughen. She married the love of her life, Jack P. Brown in Joiner, Arkansas on July 11, 1942.  Joy was a volunteer for BSA Hospital’s Gift Shop for over 30 years. She was an avid bowler, belonging to multiple bowling leagues over the years in Amarillo.  Joy was also known for her love of the Texas Rangers baseball team.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack in 2006; three sisters; five brothers; and a grandchild, Daniel Winstead.

Joy is survived by two daughters, Karen Gayle Fielder and husband Richard of DeSoto, TX and Beth Ann Winstead and husband Dwayne of Ovilla, TX; a son, David R. Brown and wife Mary of Amarillo, TX; three grandchildren, Russell Fielder and wife Lauren, Kevin Fielder and Emily Winstead; three great grandchildren and many more loving family and friends.
