Oma “Joyce” Butler, 78, of Amarillo died Thursday, February 13, 2014.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February18 , 2014 at Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel with Pastor Kirk Coker of Celebration Family Church in Fritch officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Joyce was born November 17, 1935 in Amarillo to Doyle and Opal Bowerman.
Joyce loved to read historical romances. She also enjoyed taking care of her flowers and plants in her yard.)
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jimmie Butler; and her son, Kenny Butler.
Survivors include her sons, Bert Butler, of Fritch, Joe, Harold, and John Butler, all of Amarillo; three brothers, Tom and David Bowerman, both of Amarillo, Richard Bowerman, of Idaho Falls, Id., seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th fl., New York, NY 10001.
Visitation will be from 6-7:00 p.m., Monday, February 17, 2014 at the funeral home.
