Joyce Louise Click, 84, of Amarillo died Monday, Dec. 9, 2013.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel with Pastor Lennie McCay officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.
Joyce was born Dec. 9, 1929, in St. Louis, Okla., to C.E. Hawkins and Ruth Brooks Hawkins. She graduated from White Deer High School. Joyce married James Click on Nov. 23, 1949, in Pampa.
Joyce celebrated her 84th birthday by going home. She was a homemaker who put her heart and soul into raising her three children. She will forever be remembered as a well-read woman who was passionate about sports. Her favorites were Texas Tech football, the Dallas Cowboys, and NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon. She enjoyed trips to Las Vegas, where she became known as a slot machine queen by her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; and a brother, L.C. Hawkins.
Survivors include a daughter, Michelle TenBrink and husband Randy of Amarillo; two sons, Kenny Click and wife Judy of Amarillo and Randy Click and wife Ann of Plano; a brother, Joe Hawkins and wife Kay of Fort Worth; five grandchildren, Courtney, Carson, Jordan, Sarah and Eric; and a great-grandchild, Addison.
The family wishes to thank the day-to-day employees of The Craig Methodist Retirement Community Bluebonnet Memory Care Unit for their outstanding compassion and care during Joyce’s stay.
The family suggests memorials be to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home
