Joyce Alleyne Colvert, 84 of Duncan, OK formerly of Amarillo died September 12, 2014.
Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Westminster Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Clay Brown and Jason Morris officiating. Private Family Interment will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Joyce was born July 22, 1930 to W.R. and Floyce Hutchison in Arkansas City, Kansas. She graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1952 and was a part of Alpha Chi Omega. She married John David Colvert January 24, 1953 in Newkirk, OK. They were longtime Amarillo residents moving here in 1962. She volunteered for many civic and cultural affairs in Amarillo. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and served as an elder. Her favorite hobby was to play bridge but most of all she cherished her time spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband John David Colvert.
Joyce is survived by her daughters, Caren Morris and husband Joe of Duncan, OK, and Cheryl Pierce and husband Kerry of Amarillo; a sister, JoAnn Engelking and husband Charles of Ardmore, OK; 5 grandchildren, Joshua Morris and wife Lindsey, Jason Morris and wife Emily, Jennifer Morris, Jennifer Pierce, and Nicole Cox and husband Brandon, and 7 great grandchildren.
