Joyce Ketchum

Joyce Ketchum, age 86 of Amarillo passed into the loving arms of her Savior on May 5, 2019. Joyce spent her last earthly day surrounded by family who loved her dearly. Joyce was born on August 13, 1932 in Allison, Texas. She grew up in Oxnard, California, but was always proud to be a Texan. After graduating high school in 1950, she moved to Memphis, Texas and married James “Corkey” Billingsley. Joyce and Corkey had three daughters Taunda Billingsley, Debra De Sierra, and Bj Hunt. In 1974 , Joyce married Jim Ketchum.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Ethel Simmons, her only brother, Waylon Simmons, her husband Jim Ketchum, her daughter Taunda Billingsley, her grandson Scotty Smith, and her “favorite “ Son in Law Larry DeSierra.

Survivors include her daughters Debra DeSierra, BJ Hunt and husband Mike. Her stepsons Curt Ketchum and wife Mary and Larry Ketchum. Her Sister- in - love Sandy Vanderkief.  7 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren, and 4 Great Great Grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 9, 2019 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm @ Schooler Funeral Home 4100 S. Georgia.

Services will be Friday, May 10, 2019 @ 1:00 pm @ Family Life Church.  3900 S.W. 58th Ave.
