Juanita R Diaz

February 19, 1947 — December 28, 2017

Juanita Diaz Rubalcaba, 70 years old, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017. She was the blessed and honored wife of Benjamin Diaz whom she was married to for 51 years.

A rosary will be said at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 3, 2017 at Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel. Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 4, 2017 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rev. Jose Gomez as celebrant. Inurnment will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 6, 2017 at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St., Amarillo, Texas.

Juanita was born February 19, 1947 to Jesus Rubalcaba and Petra Aguillar in Lamesa, Texas.

Juanita lived a life of loving God in everything she did. She taught her daughters how to be good mothers and followers of Christ. She taught her grandchildren to pray and give God the Glory in everything they did. Juanita loved her husband Benjamin for 51 years and with his help raised an amazing family.

Juanita was involved in many organizations throughout her life. She gave many years to the Headstart Program and proudly served with the Corte de Guadalupana’s and was a Eucharistic Minister for many years.  She worked for True Blessings which now as Nurse Core until her passing, she was an honorary PTO volunteer at Carver Academy Elementary, and she went on to continue her service by being a Life Gift donor.  Juanita touched many lives throughout her life and the legacy she left behind is absolutely beautiful.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Mary Rubalcaba.

Juanita was survived by her husband; three daughters, Virginia Diaz, Monica Lara and husband Patrick Lara, Veronica Berryman and her husband Tony Berryman.  She has seven grandchildren, Benjamin Diaz, Isaiah Mata, Brooklyn, Savannah, Spencer, Samuel Berryman, and Olivia Lara along with two sisters, Estella Rubalcaba and Anita Howell, and one brother, Joe Rubalcaba; with many more loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that to her were family.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Corte de Guadalupans’s of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
