Juanita Marie Lancaster, 89, of Amarillo passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the Park Central Ware Unit.
Memorial services for will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St., Amarillo, Texas. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 PM at Terrance Cemetery in Post, Texas. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.
Juanita was born December 25, 1928 in Tolbert, Texas to Edgar and Amy Moseley. She was united in marriage to Jack Lancaster in 1947. He preceded her in death March 17, 2000.
Juanita graduated from Odell High School and worked to put her husband through college. She held jobs as a secretary, bank clerk, and at a placement agency throughout her life.
Her main focus was on her family and church. She was the main caregiver throughout her husband’s struggle with diabetes and renal failure. She had unwavering faith in God throughout her life and was a member of the First Baptist Church, then later the Paramount Baptist Church.
She loved to watch food cooking channels and the home shopping network. She was also a sports fan and enjoyed watching football on TV. She loved classical music, church gospels, and Floyd Kramer.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Jonathan Edgar Lancaster; and a sister, Theresa Martin.
She is survived by her son; Kevin Lancaster of Harker Heights; daughter-in-law, Dianne Lancaster of Harker Heights; 3 grandchildren, Jonathan Clint Lancaster and Deena Doran, both of Amarillo, and Derek Burnett of San Antonio; and brother, Ed Moseley of Lubbock.
