Juanita Welch

Juanita Welch, age 91 longtime Amarillo resident, passed away on June 24, 2015 in Amarillo.

A memorial service will be held in the chapel of First Baptist Church on Monday, June 24th at 10:00 AM.   Dr. Howard Batson will be officiating.  A private graveside services will be at Llano Cemetery arranged by Schooler Funeral Home.
Juanita was born in Floyd County to Alfred and Rosa Merrell on September 8, 1923. She moved to Amarillo in 1943 where she met her future husband, John Welch.  They were married for 60 years and had 2 daughters.  Professionally Juanita worked in real estate and owned the Merle Norman Cosmetic Studio in Pucket Plaza.  She was a member of First Baptist Church for many years along with husband and family.
Juanita is preceded in death by her husband John, her parents, and a sister Christine Gilbert.
She is survived by two daughters Janet Welch and Patty Probasco and husband Mitch, 4 grandchildren: Jordan and John Daniel Chaparro,  Lyndi Hopper and husband R.N, Andi Moore and husband Randy, 4 great-grandchildren, 2 nieces and 1 nephew.
