Julia was born on February 17, 1926, in a small town close to Presidio, Texas and was the seventh child of fourteen children born to Marcelino and Manuela Arenivas. She spent a jovial childhood in the company of her large family, had a zest for life, a quick smile and was friendly to everyone she met. She was part of the “Great Generation” that looked at work as something to be done.
She married Frank Ochoa Soto in 1948 and settled down to raising and loving her kids, helping in church and enjoying her life in Christ while living in the Texas Panhandle and southeast New Mexico. In 1961 she had a near fatal illness, but her trust in the Lord kept her alive to raise her young children. She loved to sing hymns, especially the ones that spoke of the golden streets in heaven.
She was preceded in death by a son, Adolfo..
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Frank; four sons, Joe Frank and wife Jane of Farmington, New Mexico, Paul and wife, Consuelo of New Braunfels, Texas, Daniel and David of Amarillo, Texas; a daughter, Rosa Elva and husband Danny Garcia of Los Angeles, Ca.; 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; two brothers, Salvador and wife Berta of Lovington, New Mexico and Alfredo and wife Maria of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Mary Lou Granger and Paula Arenivas of Lovington, New Mexico.
We wish to thank the nurses of the 4th floor of Northwest Texas Hospital, who were next to angels in the care and comfort they provided to our beloved treasure.
