June 7, 1919 — September 28, 2010

FUNERAL SERVICES will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 30, 2010 at Covenant Fellowship Church with Rev. Stephen Gaines and Chaplain Jeff Messer officiating.  Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 1, 2010 at Hooker Cemetery, Hooker, OK.June Elliott was born in Hooker, Oklahoma to Thomas H. and Era McKinley.  She graduated from high school in Hooker, OK and following graduation she completed business college in Edmond, OK.  She worked as a bookkeeper for many years both in the auto industry and the oil and gas industry.  She was an active member of San Jacinto United Methodist Church where she served on the Board as Treasurer and supported her church through work with United Methodist Women and her Sunday School class.  She was also a member of the American Businesswomen’s Association and Beta Sigma Phi.  She was a founding member of “SHHH” – Self Help for Hard of Hearing and worked hard to improve the quality of life for hearing impaired citizens.  Mrs. Elliott volunteered with St. Anthony’s Hospice and Olivia’s Angels.The family wishes to thank the caregivers and staff of the Continental and Bivins Memorial Nursing Home for the love and daily care they provided, with special thanks to Valerie Ramos, Nancy Woodall, Mona Benevidez, and Virginia McCallister.  Special thanks also goes to caregivers from Hospice Care of the Southwest, especially Gerald Buchanan, Melissa Estrada, Dora, and Charlotte Hughes.She was preceded in death by her husband, B. T. Elliott in 1983 and daughter Saundra Anderson in 1969, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.SURVIVORS:  Daughters, Marsha Hughes and husband, Tommy of Amarillo, Debbie Beard and husband, Tom of Amarillo, sons, Larry Elliott of Chester, VA, and Jeff Elliott and wife, Amy of Chesterfield, VA; Brother, Stanley McKinley and wife, Gaynor of Hooker, OK; grandchildren, Stephanie Miller and husband, Richard; Caralee Hill, Chris Beard, Max Elliott, Molly Elliott, Saundra Elliott, Krystal Elliott, Brandon Elliott, Justin Elliott, Shayna Bryn Peristein Elliott, Todd Hughes and wife, Carla; Heath Hughes and wife, Donna; Mike Beard, David Beard, and Jan Beard; 10 Great-Grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.The family requests memorials to Covenant Fellowship Church, 1739 Avondale, Amarillo, TX 79106.
