June Ingram, age 88, died on Thursday, August 19, 2021, in Amarillo, Texas.
Visitation will be from 5-6:00 p.m., Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 23, 2021 at The Church of Christ at The Colonies, 4500 Wesley Rd. with Mr. Russell Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
June was born on January 23, 1933, in Wellington, Texas to V.P. and Ruby Robertson. She attended Wellington High School where she was a guard for the women’s basketball team. She married John D. Ingram on November 7, 1949. Their loving marriage resulted in the birth of three sons, Tom, Dick and Harry Ingram. The couple resided in Amarillo for over 60 years and were married for almost 68 years.
She was the youngest of eight children and was preceded in death by her siblings; her son, Dickie, in 1999; and her husband, John, in 2017.
June is survived by her sons, Tom Ingram of Arlington, TX and Harry Ingram of Amarillo, TX. “Mama June” was a grandmother for almost 45 years. She is survived by all five of her grandchildren, Paige Ingram Castaneda and husband, Salvador, Barrett Ingram and wife, Macie, Brittany Ingram, Andie Peters and husband, Joe and Cristie Strake and husband, Patrick. Mama June was also blessed with six beautiful great-grandchildren, Salvador and Abigail Castaneda and Ava, Emma, Daylin, and John Luke Ingram.
June was a deeply devoted woman of God. She taught her children to love God above all else and was an influence for good on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a long- time member of the Church of Christ, was a sunday school teacher for many years, and was a member of the Church of Christ at The Colonies.
The family would like to thank The Ware at Park Central, The Moore at Park Central, and BSA Hospice Care of the Southwest for the compassionate, loving care provided in June’s final days.
