June Rodman. of Amarillo, passed away on May 7, 2018.
June Rodman , wife to Gary , Mother to Amy , and grandmother to Grace and Gwen was a quiet, kind and very thoughtful person who really enjoyed her home and solitude.. She was a fastidiously clean homemaker that took pride in their home.
June never forgot a Birthday text to every member of her family . She was thoughtful like that . Never forgot to say
"I love you " .
June always wanted to have children and miscarried once. She was so sad that she didn't think she would get to be a mother . What a surprise when she found out she was pregnant at the age of 35. Amy was such a welcome gift to them .
June was such a fan of her daughter's and so dedicated to what ever Amy was into at the time. . She cheered Amy on
to gymnastics , dance , soccer, theatre , volleyball, baseball, cheer squad , so you see ... she was truly a fulltime involved Mom.
June always made sure that throughout Amy's childhood , she was involved in church - youth groups, church camping trips, Sunday school. What a wonderful Mom to want God so involved in her daughter's life.
June had a big love of doing Word Search and crossword puzzles and whiled away her afternoons completing them.
She was very crafty and loved making homemade cards with sweet messages and making Holiday Wreaths .
When Amy was growing up , she made lots and lots of hair bows to match Amy's outfits and she continued on to make
her darling granddaughters handmade bows for their hair.
For her wedding gift to Amy , she spent 17 hours meticulously sowing on pearls around the edges of Amy's exquisite Wedding veil . What an amazing love filled gift.
As a child , June was a Daddy's girl . He called her his little June Bug. She loved spending fun time with him .
After her high school graduation , June selflessly stayed with her mother in the family home to help pay bills and support her mother until her marriage to Gary .
As a young wife , June was so excited for them to have their own home and be able to decorate and feather their nest.
How fresh faced and giggly and happy she was in her new life.
Gary and June were married 47 years when June passed.
June will be lovingly remembered by her family and missed greatly.
