Karen was born on June 11, 1956 in Houston to Frank and Eloise Ellerbrock. Karen was known for her amazing sense of humor and having the biggest love for her family and friends. She was strong in her faith, extremely intelligent, and worked hard her entire life. She enriched the life of everyone she knew with a genuine care for others. She will be remembered for her joyful voice, generous heart, and winner smile. Karen would often take road trips with friends to go on an adventure or to see family. Karen had style, guts (a lot of them), and a spunky attitude. If KK and Hooch were together, there was always a picture and a funny story to tell later. The check would often come as one. She loved spoiling her two cats, Smokey and Patches. Her greatest joy came from being a mother and spending time with her two grandchildren, Gabriel and Benjamin. Karen (aka "GamGam," aka "MiMi," aka "KK," aka "Hooch") will be missed by all. We lost her brother, Bill Ellerbrock, in June of this year. We hope she is dancing again with him in Heaven now.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Bill Ellerbrock.
Karen is survived by one son, Michael Ehrhart and wife Rose, of Amarillo; two brothers, Jim Ellerbrock and wife Scottie of Austin, and Mike Ellerbrock and wife Sue of Blacksburg, Virginia; one sister-in-law, Julie Ellerbrock of Houston; two grandchildren, Gabriel and Benjamin Ehrhart, both of Amarillo; and four nieces and nephews, Taylor, Coleman, Monica and Jacob Ellerbrock.
