Kathryn "Kaye" Peery Selby Goss

Kathryn (Kaye) Peery Selby Goss, 98 of Amarillo, died Tuesday, September 29, 2015.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am Friday, October 2, 2015 at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel with Bishop Pat Parker officiating. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home 4100 S. Georgia Amarillo, Texas 79110.
Kathryn was born February 6, 1917 in Dalhart, Texas to William E. “Bill” Peery and Margaret Green Peery. She graduated from Dalhart High School in 1934 and married Amel V. Selby in 1937. They were blessed by three daughters, Barbara Ann, Sharon Kaye, and Carolyn Ruth. Job transfers to Dumas, Sunray, Amarillo, Ft. Worth, Wichita Falls, and Midland gave them the opportunities to form many friendships that lasted more than 60 years. Kaye was a stay-at-home mom except for 10 years as a medical secretary.
After Amel’s death, Kaye married Wm. J. Goss in Amarillo. He passed away in 1997.
She was a longtime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in Ward and Stake callings for more than 60 years.
Kaye was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Margaret Mitchell, Dorothy Peery, and Wilma Ruth Christensen, two brothers Nathan and Weldon Peery, a daughter Sharon Kaye Bateman Jones, a grandson Steven Bateman, and her two husbands.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Ann and husband Roger Jeffs of Star Valley Ranch, Wyoming and Carolyn Ruth and husband Robert Bishop of Panama City, Florida, 13 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great- grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive guests at the funeral home Thursday October 1st from 6:00PM until 7:00 PM and Friday October 2nd from 10:00AM until 10:30AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith City in Amarillo or to a charity of your choice.
