Keli was born on August 28, 1978 in Amarillo, Texas to Rick and Connie Landers.  She was the youngest of two daughters, and brought so much sunshine and laughter to their household.  She was always so caring, compassionate, witty, spunky, adventurous, and had such a creative spirit about her. Keli graduated from Randall High School in 1997 where she was a cheerleader and a member of the Randall Band.  Her senior year, she received the “Most Courteous Award,’ which was well deserved.  She was always surrounded by friends and loved them well.

Upon high school graduation, Keli attended University of North Texas where she received a degree in Kinesiology.  She worked as a sales associate in the medical field, as an assistant at Amarillo Heart Group, and eventually decided to follow in her mother’s footsteps and become a cosmetologist.  Keli was extremely artistic and very talented when it came to hair design, home decorating and painting.  Throughout her life,  she always pursued her hobby of painting murals that can be found in many homes and several businesses in Amarillo.  Many of her art works were precious gifts to those she loved.  Preceding her death, she was also employed at Camping World and used her wit and energetic attitude in sales.  Her witty demeanor, compassion, and giving heart went into everything she worked at.  Her smile and laughter was always welcoming and contagious.

Keli always had a deep love for animals and so loved her 4-legged fur babies.  They went wherever she went, no matter what it took to get them there.  You could often find her with a sling tied around her torso and one of them being carried inside.  She always had a special connection with each of the dogs who would come in and out of her life.  Every one that she took in were either found or rescued, and the love they returned to her was evidence of their gratitude for her compassionate heart towards them.  The ones left behind will miss her greatly.

Keli is preceded in death by her father, Ricky Lee Landers,  This was one of the deepest heartaches she had experienced.  The two were very close, and always used their witty nature to entertain others.  We take comfort in knowing they are reunited and laughing together again.  She is also preceded in death by her grandparents Ollie and Juanita Ottensmeyer and Gwinn and Fern Landers.

Survivors include her beloved furbabies, Charlie Timothy Danial, III, Skeeter Bobo, Willow, Peter, Paul, Mary and Rudy; her mother, Connie Landers; her sister, Lori Pillion, brother in law Jason, and her niece and nephew, Avery and Cooper.  Also included are her aunts, Judy Ottensmeyer, Linda Reid,  Becky O’Donald, Cille Landers and her beloved Uncle Roger.  She is also survived by cousins who loved her dearly.

Keli will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, and in order to continue her devotion to caring for animals, we are asking for donations to be given in her name to Pets of Amarillo, 2500 SW 6th Street, Amarillo, Texas, 79106.
