Kenneth Ray Brady

June 22, 1929 — August 8, 2013

Kenneth Ray Brady, born June 22, 1929 in Amarillo, Texas to Harold T. Brady and Susan Fowler, passed away on August 8, 2013 at the age of 84.
The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m., Monday, August 12 at Schooler Funeral Home.  Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 13 in Llano Cemetery.  Memorial services will follow at 11:00 a.m. in First Baptist Church Chapel with Rev. Corky Holland officiating.  Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
He was preceded in death by both parents; his loving wife, Peggy F. Brady; brothers Earl, Fred, and Bill Brady; and sister, Mildred Buthker.  Ray is survived by his loving daughters Dr. Kimberly Kaye Brady-Urban from Ava, Missouri, and Kelly Dawn Brady-Evans from Frisco, Texas; grandson, Brady Cayson Evans; sister, Marie Glovier; brother, Bob Brady; and brother-in-law, Bill Stephens.
Ray graduated from Amarillo High School in 1947 and also received an Associates degree from Amarillo College and a Bachelor’s degree from West Texas State A&M.  Upon graduation from High School, he married his long time sweet heart, Peggy F. Stephens, and was married for 50 years until her death in 1998.
He was a member of the Air Force for four years and received the following:  National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and a Commendation Ribbon.  Upon his Honorable Discharge from the Air Force, he began working for Southwestern Public Service (“SPS”) in 1951.  He retired from SPS as Senior Purchasing Agent on July 1, 1991after 40 years of service.
He served on the board for the Amarillo Bowling Association, was a member of Toast Masters, loved playing golf, fishing, drawing, carving, wood working, and making people laugh.  He was a very supportive and loving son, husband, father, grandfather and friend to many.  He has now joined his loved ones in Christ up above in Heaven, but will sorely be missed by many here on Earth.  We love you Dad!  See ya soon.
