Kenneth Cantrell, 65, of Amarillo, TX passed away peacefully on October 15, 2022, surrounded by his family and loved ones. Kenneth was born in Liberal, KS on August 15 th , 1957, to Father Walter M. Cantrell and Mother Roberta K. Cantrell. Kenneth was employed at Yellow House Machinery where he hauled heavy equipment for many years. Kenneth was a hard worker who took pride in everything he did. He was the kind of person you could count on to help you when you needed it no questions asked. He would literally give you the shirt off his back. Kenneth was a big family guy; he loved his children and his grandchildren fiercely. There isn’t anything he wouldn’t have done for his grandkids. He enjoyed taking the boat out on the lake and pulling his kids and grandkids on the tube or watching them wake board some would say he highly enjoyed the challenge of throwing you off the tube although he would never admit it. Nothing made him happier than being behind the wheel of that boat, unless it came to his grandchildren. Kenneth also had an extended family, if you were a friend to his kids, you became one of his kids. Kenneth was a bit of a joker, he loved to make people laugh and had a great sense of humor. Kenneth was a Christian man, and his faith was strong. He will be dearly missed and always remembered.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his Father Walter M. Cantrell, Mother Roberta K. Cantrell, Grandmother Ruby Rapp and Grandfather Louis Rapp. He is survived by daughter Heather Cantrell and husband Paul Turman, two sons Matthew Cantrell and Drew Russell his wife Kristi Russell, grandchildren Hadley Cantrell, Penelope Cantrell and Walter Mack Cantrell of Amarillo. Sister Kathy Ray and husband Jim Ray of Amarillo, nephew Jeremy Ray of San Antonio and niece Lindsey Altmeyer and husband Luke of Dallas. He is also survived by so many more who loved him dearly like he was their own blood.
A Father like you is rare, one that’s so generous, smart and kind. A Father like you is what everyone needs. Full of smiles and laughter, always doing great deeds. Nothing can replace a father like you, but when you get to heaven, God will be lucky to have you too.
