Kenneth Eugene Moss, “Paw-Paw” of Amarillo, Texas, went to heaven to be with the Lord he dedicated his life of service to on October 15, 2019. He was 82.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2019, at Southwest Church of Christ with Tom Farris officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.
Ken Moss was born in Hollis, Oklahoma to Kenneth Lee Moss and Norma Elaine Bledsoe on November 9, 1936. He went to school at Elk City High School, Oklahoma City University, and West Texas State University. He graduated with a bachelors in geology and a master’s in petroleum engineering. He married his high school sweetheart Jerelyn Sue Davis on August 25, 1956 in Elk City, Oklahoma. He worked for Pioneer Natural Gas. He served in the Army. He was involved in the Society of Petroleum Engineering. He served as a beloved song leader at Elk City Church of Christ, Madill Church of Christ, Perryton Church of Christ, and Southwest Church of Christ. He also served as an elder at Southwest Church of Christ.
Ken loved wood working and making toys for his grandchildren. Adult toys he made were the exploding outhouse and the hooey stick. Other hobbies included golf, fishing, hunting, reading, and reloading. His favorite time was spent with his family.
Ken is preceded in death by his parents; and brother Jim Moss.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years; son, Greg Moss; daughter, Kristi Grooms and husband Kevin, grandsons, Michael and Kevin; granddaughters, Nicole, Katelyn, and Kenna; great-grandchildren, Aaron, Tinsley, and Jasmine.
Memorials may be given to High Plain’s Children’s Home.
